Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) is widely used to maintain proper liver function, which comes in handy if you're using prescription medication which has side effects involving the liver.
Dandelion also contains vitamins A, C, D, B -complex, iron, magnesium, zinc, potassium, manganese, choline, calcium and boron. Due to it's water retaining properties, this tea is also good against constipation, promotes healthy bacteria in the digestive tract, and should be consumed about three times daily to aid with the above.

How to brew Dandelion Tea

1. Bring 1 quart of water to boil in a saucepan. Add 2 teaspoons of the Dandelion herbs to the saucepan, cover the pan and lower the heat.

2. Simmer the mixture in the covered saucepan for about 1 minute.

3. Remove the pan from the heat. Leave the dandelion herbs to steep in the covered pan for 40 minutes.

4. Set a strainer over a teapot, and pour the infused liquid into the pot.

Dandelion Tea Known Side Effects

Dandelion root tea may in some individuals sensitive to this tea cause an upset stomach.
