Eye Hook Turnbuckle Thimble Swage Long Screw Eye SRTT

Eye Hook Turnbuckle Thimble Swage Long Screw Eye SRTT Kit suits a run of wire of 10 meters or less (hence the SR or Short Run). There a single tensioning point and two attachment points. The attachments are two 6mmx75mm (Long) Lag Eye Screws. These attach directly into softwood or hardwood timber posts (hence the TT or Timber to Timber).

Application

The first end of the run has an Eye Hook Turnbuckle (for wire tensioning) fastened to the wire to the wire. This attaches to the first 75mm Screw Eye. The Screw Eye is fastens to a timber post or wall. The second end is fastened to the wire which is attached to the second 75mm Screw Eye which is fastened to the second post or wall.

Balustrading

Wire may be installed through the intermediate posts and 'cut to length'. Please make sure you expand the turnbuckles before measurement and drill the intermediate posts out to at least 4mm prior to swaging in place. Alternately, if you build the wire before you install it, then the length of a wire run is determined by the 'inside to inside' post measurement less a fixed amount which represents the distance between the attachment posts 'taken up' by the fittings when installed and adjusted properly.

Landscaping

Lag Eye Screws may be attached in line with the wire or at 90 degrees to the wire - thus enabling a 'trellis vine' wire in either a vertical, angled or a horizontal installation. This kit can be attached to concrete or brick walls with the Lag Screw Eyes orthogonal to the wire if Blue Plugs (anchors) are used (sold separately). We recommend that angular or horizontal installations allow for the wire to be supported every 1.0M to 2.0M to limit sag that will result from the weight of the greenery/vines under wind and rain load.
