The Garmin HRM Run heart rate monitor provides the most advanced running metrics to high-end Garmin Forerunner running watches. It is compatible with the Forerunner 630, Forerunner 920XT, Fenix 3 and Epix.

The HRM strap provides real-time data the will help athletes take their performance to the next level. It provides advanced heart rate and physiological features - VO2 max, lactate threshold, recovery time estimates, stress score, performance condition and predicted race times - as well as 6 running dynamics measurements - cadence, vertical oscillation, ground contact time, vertical ratio, stride length and left/right ground contact time balance.

PHYSIOLOGICAL METRICS:
Lactate Threshold
Estimates the level of effort at which fatigue rapidly increases in terms of a runner’s heart rate and pace.

Stress Score
Measures heart rate variability to make an assessment of a user’s overall level of stress.

Performance Condition
Provides a real-time fitness-level measurement relative to a runner’s average baseline, which indicates performance readiness for the day’s workout or race.

ADVANCED RUNNING DYNAMICS:
Stride Length
Measures the length of a runner’s stride in real time - a metric which can be used to predict race finish times.

Left/Right Ground Contact Time Balance
Measures a runner’s ground contact symmetry, which some runners have found to correlate with injuries or strength imbalances.

Vertical Ratio
The cost-benefit ratio of vertical oscillation to stride length, serving as one indicator of a runner’s efficiency.

RUNNING DYNAMICS
Cadence
The number of steps per minute. It displays the total steps (right and left combined)

Vertical Oscillation
The bounce in your running motion. It displays the vertical motion of your torso, measured in centimetres.
