Reinforced chassis
A metal support brace underneath the keyboard provides a much more stable platform when typing and using the touchpad. Besides providing structural rigidity, it also strengthens the hinge joint and protects itnernal components.
Reinforced lid
The sides of the lid are reinforced and work like side-impact protection beams in automobiles. These provide structural support for the lid, the panel, and the hinge joint.
