Compatibility

The worm gear and sprocket work under a large amount of strain, which can cause the gear to 'shred' if the door has not been serviced for a long period of time. This can easily be identified by opening your motor case, as there would be shavings of the gear on the bottom of the motor casing.

A common symptom for when this fails is a grinding noise when you try to operate the motor, however, the door does not move. In this case, you would need to replace the sprocket.

Over the years B&D manufactured a number of different models and versions of the Control A Door 4 motor, due to its popularity at the time.
