Foo Fighters is the Foo Fighters' debut album. It was released in 1995 (see 1995 in music) through Roswell/Capitol Records.
Though he formed a band after the album was recorded, virtually the entire album was recorded by Dave Grohl. Grohl had been recording his own music for years, releasing a cassette called "Pocketwatch" (under the moniker "Late!") during his time in Nirvana. The album was recorded in October 1994 in Robert Lang's Studio in Seattle with friend/producer Barrett Jones. This was the same studio that Nirvana recorded the session which produced "You Know You're Right" 9 months prior.
Foo Fighters reached UK #3 and in America hit #23, selling over a million copies there.
