Galileo Thermometer w/ 7 Balls

Named after the famous Italian scientist, the Galileo thermometer is based on Galileo Galilei's discovery that the density of a liquid changes in proportion to its temperature. This thermometer is housed in a sealed glass cylinder containing clear liquid and several glass balls of varying densities. When the temperature changes, individual balls rise or fall proportion to their respective density, as it works on the principle of buoyancy. Functional as well as being decorative, this thermometer is a fusion of science and art.

Features:

  • Galileo Thermometer with 7 Balls
  • Colour: Clear/Multi
  • Materials: Glass, liquid
  • Gives a guide to the temperature by looking at the bottom ball of the cluster
  • Sealed glass cylinder containing clear liquid
  • Floating coloured glass balls with temperature badges
  • Individual balls rise or fall when the temperature changes
  • Glass balls vary in density & works on the principle of buoyancy
  • If all balls float to the top, then temperature is below the lowest floating ball
  • If all balls sink, temperature is above the highest ball
  • Temperature range: 18C - 30C
  • Fun, functional and decorative
  • Dimensions (approx. cm): 37 (H)
