Susanne has received the Lady Culter Award for Distinguished Services to Children's Literature in Australia, and an Outstanding Professional Achievement Award in writing by University of Technology Sydney. She is the director of the Kids and Young Adult Literature Festival, and heads the Sydney Children's Writers & Illustrators Network.
