Industry Nine are the crowd leading company when it comes to hubs. They first released the Torch model which shocked everyone with its ridiculous amount of engagement points. But now, Industry Nine have Taken it to the next level. The Hydra Industry Nine’s new Classic hubs are the heart of your wheelset, everything revolves around them, literally. A significant and welcomed improvement to the Hydra Hubs is the new larger bearing size. The new bigger bearings offer more durability and longer last life as well as less friction allows you to roller faster and for longer. The new bearings have also led to the push of more axle contact so that the hubs can be stiffer. This is done by removing the taper on the inside of the Torch hubs and making the thru Axle come into contact with more of the hub’s axle. This leads to a far tighter fit between your hub and your axle and drastically improves stiffness.

Every Classic mountain hub is made start to finish in our Asheville, NC machine shop. From turning and milling bar stock 7075-T6 aluminium for shells, axles and encaps, wire EDM cutting A2 tool steel for pawls and driverings, to our own in-house anodization lab, every step of design, engineering, manufacturing and assembly is done on premises to our exacting standards.
