Produced from a mash bill containing 20% English barley malt and 80% New York grown Danko rye then aged 2 years in charred oak barrels Kings County Distillery Straight Rye Whiskey is for true Rye lovers. Bottled at 51% ABV it is not for the faint of heart but for those with experienced palates, it has much to offer. On first tasting, it brings Christmas to mind. Shades of cinnamon, nutmeg, maple, mint and hints of freshly cut grass dominate. This theme continues through the finish with holiday spice notes only giving way at the last moment to warm buttered bread.
