Oregon's Rogue Ales made a name for itself with their Dead Guy Ale, then inspiration struck. They had developed a wonderful wort, why not add distiller's yeast and instead of brewing it, cook it off. Thus was born the 'brewstillery' and Rogue Dead Guy Whiskey, the granddaddy of all beer based whiskeys. Aged for a minimum of two years in new white oak barrels, Rogue Dead Guy Whiskey has heavy notes of coffee, dark cocoa, caramel with a little grassy cereal and a dab of honey mixed in for good measure. A decent sipper it shines as a base for any style of whiskey cocktail you care to whip up.
