1976, the Guatemalan town of Zacapa reached its centenary. To celebrate, Guatemala's premier rum-producing company decided to create something special, and this is how Zacapa 23YO Centenario rum came to be. Containing a blend of rums from 6 to 23 years old, Zacapa Centenario is a wonderfully generous, complex and full-bodied rum. Produced using the Solera System, the rum of various ages is blended in casks that once held American Whiskey, delicate sherry and fine Pedro Ximenez wines. The rum acquires elements of its aroma and flavour from the interior wood of the barrels. Ron Zacapa 23YO Centenario is best enjoyed on a single large lump of pure, clear ice in a luxury rocks glass with a heavy base.
