About the Author

Caren B. Stelson hold a BA in History and Masters in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and has worked as a teacher, educational consultant, and freelance writer. In 2009, she earned an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University. Because of her friendship with Sachiko Yasui, Caren has become an active member of the Saint Paul Nagasaki Sister City Committee as well as continuing to write and teach. She lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
