The Samyang 12mm T3.1 UMC II Canon EF Full Frame VDSLR/Cine Lens is a manual focus lens with a low T number. You may control the lens precisely when shooting under various exposure environments including relatively dark or too bright situations. This lens features 12 lenses in 8 groups including 2 glass aspherical lens (ASP), and 3 extra low dispersion lens (ED) to offer high resolution. Also the Nano Coating System (NCS) of Samyang Optics is used to optimise light penetration and minimises flare and ghost. With such optical construction, it has 0.2m of minimum focal length to film subjects in near distance. Stereoscopic projection optical design delivers soft and stabilised fisheye distortion effect.

There are 7 aperture blades designed to be almost a full circle when the aperture is closed, which expresses starlike ray clearly and beautifully. The frame of the lens is compact and solid as it is made of high-strength aluminium alloy so you can create trustworthy images. Also, the detachable petal-shaped lens hood minimises flare and ghost by sheltering the lens from unnecessary light.

The Samyang 12mm T3.1 is one of 9 Samyang Optics VDSLR/Cine Lens Line Up for full frame image sensor sizes. The lenses produce the same image colour and have a united location of aperture and focus gear ring to maximise convenience when filming.
