Prioritised display of AF area and ISO display limitOn the AF area-setting screen a new feature enables display of only the focus area types that you use frequently. Another new feature on the ISO setting screen displays only frequently used ISO ranges. This allows for more efficient settings adjustment while shooting. These features can also be used when Switch Focus Area is assigned to a Custom button.
Greater control over white balance settingsIf set in advance auto white balance can now be locked or unlocked at any time for more consistent colour tones when there are multiple light sources. Custom setting of white balance has been simplified and you can now select an AWB priority setting when shooting with incandescent lighting - either warmer Atmosphere Priority or White Priority for purer whites.
Easier ratings and protection from deletionIn playback mode still images can be given a rating or protected from deletion. Both these functions can be accessed via pre-assigned custom keys. 
Versatile flash functionsWhen shooting with compatible wireless flash units rear-curtain sync and slow sync can be selected increasing your creative options for lighting.
1:1 aspect ratio ideal for social-media shotsIn addition to 3:2 and 16:9 aspect (width-to-height) ratios you can also select a 1:1 aspect ratio - ideal for sharing images on social media platforms.
