Wireless docking gives you the freedom you need

This dynamic laptop dock is a must-have accessory if you have a laptop that supports WiGig (IEEE 802.11ad). With wireless docking, you can dock and undock your laptop without having to connect and disconnect a cable. That means you can save time and move more freely to and from your work area, with your laptop in hand.

Setting up is easy, and after you've paired the WiGig dock with your laptop for the first time, you can dock and undock by simply moving in and out of the docking station's wireless range (up to 4 ft.). This means that peripherals and devices connect and are ready to go even before you sit down, making it perfect for office and business workers who are constantly on the move.

Even if your current laptop doesn?t support WiGig, this wireless docking station offers forward compatibility as WiGig enabled laptops become more readily available in the future.

Connect through a wired USB-C cable

The USB 3.0 docking station also gives you the option to connect through USB-C, if a WiGig connection isn?t available. It capitalizes on the full potential of USB Type-C, which simultaneously transfers power, video, and data all over a single cable. USB-C is the future of universal connectivity, and many new laptops and tablets already feature USB Type-C ports.

Use just one adapter to power the dock and your laptop

The docking station supports USB Power Delivery (up to a maximum of 60 watts), which means that you can power and charge your laptop directly through its USB-C port. Because you can use just a single power adapter to power your dock and laptop, you can reduce clutter at your workstation. Plus, you don?t need to carry or remember an extra power adapter when you?re traveling to or from the office.

Note: USB Power Delivery is only supported when connected through USB-C. USB Power Delivery is not supported when connected through WiGig.

Connect dual monitors and many other peripherals

With DisplayPort and HDMI video output, this dock makes it easy to connect dual-monitors. Dual displays are supported in both WiGig and USB-C modes. With multiple monitors, you can work more efficiently by multitasking faster, and avoid the hassle of continually repositioning several open windows or programs.

HDCP content is not supported when connected in WiGig mode. The dock can connect to a host laptop?s USB-C port even if it doesn?t support USB Power Delivery 2.0 and DP alt mode. However, without support for these two protocols, the dock will not pass power through to your host laptop or support video output. The dock?s DisplayPort port only supports active DisplayPort video adapters. USB 3.0 is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1; this connectivity standard offers speeds up to 5Gbps. USB 3.1 Gen 2 offers speeds up to 10Gbps. Video output capabilities are dependent on the video card and hardware specifications of the host laptop it?s connected to. Certain video cards have limited video support, and some monitors will also limit the available resolution. When connected to your host laptop through WiGig the dock only supports 2-channel audio (5 and 7-channel audio is not supported).
