About the Authors

Terry Denton has been illustrating and writing children's books for over 30 years. His many acclaimed books include The Upside-down History of Downunder with Alison Lloyd, and The Worm Who Knew Karate with Jill Lever, as well as the Gasp! books and animated TV series, and the Just! books and the Treehouse series with Andy Griffiths. He has worked with many of Australia's top authors, won more than 40 children's choice awards and been shortlisted many times in the Children's Book Council of Australia awards. His Felix and Alexander won Picture Book of the Year in 1986.

Alison Lloyd started learning Chinese in school because it was a challenge, then later went to live in China for two years - she was living there when army tanks rolled in to suppress the student movement in 1989.
