Limescale, mineral deposits and mould build up on appliances that use water. This build-up is worse if you have hard water as it contains a high mineral content. Some traditional methods can take much longer to achieve results and are unsuitable for some appliances. It is not advisable to use harsh acids, like sulphuric acid, which is hazardous, poisonous and can corrode some surfaces.

How to Use

Directions: ;Always refer to the Manufacturer’s User Manual before using this product.

Note: ;Only for use on scaled appliances. Not suitable for use with aluminium or appliances sensitive to acid (such as enamel, marble, silver or zinc plated).

Premix:

  • Prepare premix by mixing 50mL Magic All Purpose Descaler™ with 450mL water before using as below.
  • For stubborn or heavy scale, premix 100-150mL of Magic All Purpose Descaler™ with 450mL water.

For Dishwashers: ;(Recommend to descale monthly)

  1. Empty all items from the dishwasher and clean waste filters.
  2. Pour 50mL of undiluted solution (not premixed) inside the base of the dishwasher. Run on a regular cycle.
  3. After the cycle, wipe clean in and around the door seals and hinges.

Coffee/Espresso/Pod Machines: ;(Recommend to descale monthly)

  1. Remove water filters from your machine if fitted. Pour the premixed solution into the water compartment.
  2. Run approximately 1 cup of solution through the descale cycle into a cup (if descale option is not available, use the standard brew cycle). Wait 10 minutes.
  3. Run the remainder of the solution through the steam wand (if fitted) into a cup. Ensure the solution is covering the end of the wand. Wait 10 minutes.
  4. Rinse the machine by running one full compartment of fresh water through the machine or until the water is clear.
  5. It is safe to discard the used solution down the sink as it is septic and grey water safe.

For Kettles, Jugs and Urns: ;(Recommend to descale monthly)

  1. Pour the premixed solution into the appliance. Ensure the solution covers the scale; add extra water if required.
  2. Bring appliance to boil and wait 5-10 minutes for descaler to work.
  3. Empty appliance and rinse thoroughly before use.
  4. It is safe to discard the used solution down the sink as it is septic and grey water safe.

For Steam Irons: ;(Recommend to descale monthly)

  1. Pour the premixed solution into the steam iron and fill the iron to max level.
  2. Turn the iron to the HOT setting until the light turns off. Ensure the STEAM setting is on.
  3. Unplug the iron, shake gently, and then place on a cake rake or heatproof dish over the sink to catch discharged liquid.
  4. Leave for 10 minutes (or until empty). Briefly press the spray button to drain any remaining solution.
  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 until liquid runs clear.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with cold water, drain and wipe the baseplate clean.
  7. It is safe to discard the used solution down the sink as it is septic and grey water safe.

Handy Hint: ;Use Iron Baseplate Cleaner to clean the iron’s baseplate.

For Shower Heads: ;

  1. Detach the shower head and place it into a bowl or bucket.
  2. Pour premixed solution over shower head until completely immersed; add extra water if required.
  3. Leave for 10-15 minutes for the descaler to work.
  4. Discard the solution, wash the shower head with clean water and reattach.
  5. It is safe to discard the used solution down the drain as it is septic and grey water safe.

Handy Hint: ;If the shower head is not easily removed or difficult to place into a bucket. Pour premix solution into a plastic bag and tie it to the shower head.

For Water Coolers:

  1. When the water bottle is empty, remove it and drain the water reservoir.
  2. Pour the premixed solution into the water cooler reservoir.
  3. Leave for 5-10 minutes. NOTE: Warn others that cleaning is in the process and avoid drinking the water.
  4. Empty the reservoir using the cooler spout/tap.
  5. When empty, rinse with 1L of clean water through the cooler and repeat if necessary.
  6. Replace with a new water bottle and use as normal. It is safe to discard the used solution down the sink as it is septic and grey water safe.

For Baby Sterilisers:

  1. Empty baby steriliser completely.
  2. Pour the premixed solution into your steriliser as if you were running standard sterilisation (volume will depend on the brand of your machine)
  3. Run steriliser through a normal cycle.
  4. Make sure not to let the solution run dry.
  5. Once complete, discard the solution from the steriliser.
  6. Thoroughly rinse the steriliser and repeat if necessary.
  7. It is safe to discard the used solution down the sink as it is septic and grey water safe.

For Steam Ovens:

  1. Premix the solution and follow the descaling instructions listed under “Cleaning and Care” in your appliance manual.
  2. It is safe to discard the used solution down the sink as it is septic and grey water safe.
