Alctron HM-2 Hum Eliminator - Transformer Isolator - 1/4" and XLR Inputs

Alctron Hum Eliminator
If you often encounter an annoying hum in your guitar set up, from stage into your mixing desk and PA, or even in your home theatre, studio or broadcast set up, then you should look at getting an Alctron HM-2 Hum Eliminator. It does exactly as the name suggests, by putting a large transformer into the signal path it clears up the sound, removing ground loops noise so all you get is the sound you want to hear.

Passively Eliminating Ground Loops
The AC-HM-2 is a totally passive unit, requiring no external power supply and eliminates hum simply by removing any ground loops. Most ground loops pick up AC interference at a frequency of 50-60Hz. The Hum Eliminator terminates this ground loop, thus preventing the frequency cycle continuing. Because the unit is passive, there is no signal loss or degradation, so you can proceed with your performance, broadcast, or mix without worrying about interruptions in your audio signal path again.

XLR and 1/4" TRS connections
The HM-2 has either XLR or 1/4" TRS jack option for inputs and outputs, allowing it to be inserted into almost any chain. Wherever a ground loop is present, simply insert the HM-2 between the input/output section of the instrument/device causing you concern and that should effectively eliminate the hum. Note though, that if your device is noisy due to other issues such as faulty connectors, incorrect or degraded wiring etc, then alternative corrective action will need to be sought.
