Alexander DC reeds were designed with the Big Band and Blue Note eras in mind. The DC models have a profile with more wood on the tip, heart, and sides than the regular Superial model. This produces characteristics of a darker, more powerful, more solid tone core, an enhanced feeling of aliveness, and a singing, yet deep resonance. Made from fine wild grown Var cane, each and every reed table is checked under light for flatness and hand adjusted if necessary.
