Amon-ra Shiraz Glaetzer 2015 - 750ml

Amon Ra is Ben Glaetzer’s flagship Shiraz named after an Egyptian God who was considered to be the King of all Gods.

Fruit was sourced from a range of vineyards, aged between 50-130 years old, with a strong emphasis on fruit quality, rather than simply selecting parcels of fruit because they were from old vines.

The wine was matured for 16 months in 100% new oak of which 5% was American and 95% French. It was bottled unfiltered.

Magnificent colour featuring an impenetrable inky black core and a very deep dark purple black hue. Intense aromas of dark plum, ripe blueberries and liquorice blossom from the glass over vanillin cedar, hints of earth and pepper. Incredibly rich and powerful yet possessing a sense of freshness and elegance, the palate is flooded with ripe blackberry, dark plum and liquorice flavours followed by vanillin cedar, confectionary and spicy pepper nuances. Opulent mouthfeel with perfectly integrated, very polished tannins having a velvety feel. Exceptionally long aftertaste of spicy dark plum, liquorice, blackberry, vanillin oak and pepper.
