Ardbeg Heavy Vapours Single Malt was launched to celebrate Ardbeg Day 2023.
Heavy Vapours from Ardbeg has been distilled without using the distillerys purifier. Typically, vapours that rise up the still are captured by the purifier, then condensed, causing them to fall back into the still. This purifying process is said to bring a floral fruitiness that balances the spirit's powerful peat. Dr Bill Lumsden, head of distilling and whisky creation decided to remove the copper purifier from a still to unleash the heavy vapours. The result is this bold and smoke-rich whisky.

Nose: Salty, vanilla, creme brulee, white chocolate, herbal, macadamia nuts, ashy, grilled lemon, seaweed.

Taste: Ashy peat, vanilla, herbal, freshly cut grass, citrus.

Finish: Medium to long, ashy peat, citrus, lemongrass, white pepper.
