**FAQs:**What if the hammock gets dirty? Can I wash it?

Yes you can wash this hammock in a washing machine! Gentle cycle is best and being 100% cotton use cold water. We recommend regularly shaking off dust & dirt from the hammock to avoid unnecessarily wetting the hammock but if you just need to spot clean a mark, use baking soda and rinse very well. Always rinse well until all dirt is gone to avoid leaving a watermark. Hang your hammock over the washing line to dry or dry flat on a clean surface, then rehang. Do not use oxy cleaners, especially on white/beige cotton hammocks as they can bleach the cotton.

How do I hang the hammock? Can the hammock be hung outdoors?

Measure your area to find a suitable place to hang your hammock. Posts, beams, trees, roof fascia are popular choices. Check our size chart for hanging space required and follow the directions on the hanging hooks or hammock straps (purchased from your local hardware store). If using hooks, usually you will need a drill to predrill a hole into the wood to install your hooks. You will need at least 3.2 metres or more if hanging between posts or trees (refer to our size chart) , or much more if hanging from a roof above the area. It is best to hang these hammocks undercover to keep it looking its best. Make sure your deck or pergola is free from rotting wood or damage. Consult with a carpenter or builder if unsure if your area or building is suitable for hanging a hammock.

Will this hammock last for a long time?

Yes! If cared for correctly your cotton hammock will last for years. Limiting exposure to full sun in summer months will prevent degradation of the cotton by UV rays. Hang in an area with partial or full shade where possible. If you live in a humid area with a wet season, the best option is to roll the hammock up and move it to a dry and well ventilated storage area for this part of the year. If your hammock gets wet from rain, make sure it dries out within the next day to prevent mould growth. Only put the hammock into storage when completely dry and store in a well ventilated area. To ensure your hammock stays in the best condition while being stored, store inside your house rather than a garage or shed. Protect from pests such as mice as well as boisterous pets that may chew or tear your hammock.

**Tip:**Style your black hammock with your own choice of cushions to add colour to your hammock.
