Nant Distillery was built in Tasmania in 2008 with an eye towards bottling a limited number of single cask single malts each year. Their latest, Sherry Cask is a wonder. With a malty core enhanced by touches of rum-soaked raisins, vanilla and plum pudding, it has a rich creaminess that brings to mind a fine cognac more than sherry. On further tasting, It also presents a distinctive nuttiness and slight coffee acidity just before its finished. Cardhu 12 Year Old - 700mL - 40.0% Cardhu 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky was almost lost to the sands of time but thanks to the fervent love that its fans showed, it was saved. Diageo made efforts to swap the label over to a blended scotch but there was such an uproar that the project was abandoned. That should tell you something about its quality. A mild mannered offering with a creamy texture and glass smooth finish. Cardhu 12 Year Old Single Malt has a honey nut sweetness and easy going smokiness that makes it ideal for quiet evenings with friends or unwinding after work.
