Bruichladdich 25 Year Old 1991 Yellow Submarine WMDIII

This Limited Edition from Bruichladdich is the third in a series released to commemorate the finding of a small yellow submarine on Islay. Head Distiller Adam Hannett has hunted out the last parcel of that original 1991 spirit, now at a sublime 25 years old, and presented the WMD III - The Legend Resurfaces (WMD - Whisky of Mass Destruction). Originally filled into refill sherry casks, this Bruichladdich spirit was then transferred into Spanish red wine casks in 2006. This third iteration has been balanced with refill bourbon casks, just as its predecessors.
Only 1,991 bottles released.

Nose: Notice the influence of wine, along with a slightly oriental sweetness, herbal honey, lavender, fennel, damp grasses, a hint of toasted oak, marzipan, sweet malt, peach and bitter orange, a few wild berries and fresh cocoa beans.

Taste: Plum and tangerine, fennel, damp grass, sweet malt, chamomile tea, cranberries, oak laid in herb honey, very rounded, oily, soft, vinous.

Finish: Cereals, cranberries particularly succinct here, malt, oak comes out a little more, medium length.

Note: Product has come from a private collection, minor markings are inevitable and collectors should have reasonable expectations in this regard.
