Bushmills 12 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey 700ml

The Bushmills 12 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey is a full-bodied, deep amber whiskey that is both complex and approachable. The whiskey is triple-distilled from 100% malted barley and matured for a minimum of 11 years in former sherry casks and bourbon casks, before combining and finishing for 6-9 months in Marsala wine casks, creating a whiskey rich in dried fruit and nut flavours.

Tasting Notes:

Floral and fruity with a drop of pear and pineapple, and a distinct nutty malt character. An excellent complement to salty and savory charcuterie boards or in a decadent Boulevardier.

"Creamy vanilla pudding and waxy honey lead off on the nose, along with lemon curd, peanuts, tart lingonberries, and champagne vinegar. The palate is soft upfront, and features dark chocolate covered raspberries, walnuts, quince paste, and figs. There's a clear Marsala wine influence, along with oak and cocoa powder, on a short finish. " - Jake Emen, Distiller (88 Points)

"... though there’s a more classic overripe banana note that works really well with the nutty qualities, the finish evoking a light milk chocolate character. Marsala can be a polarizing and domineering flavor element, but this whiskey turns out to be quite well-rounded, with plenty of nuance to explore from start to finish." - Christopher Null, Drinkhacker (90 Points)
