Cardinale, located in the heart of Napa Valley's world-renowned Oakville District, crafts a single Cabernet Sauvignon from each vintage. The wine is a limited-production blend from Napa Valley's most recognized mountain appellations including Mt. Veeder, Spring Mountain, Howell Mountain and Diamond Mountain. Every bottle reveals the artistic sensibility of Winemaker Christopher Carpenter. In the bottle, Cardinale is sophisticated, powerful, and a true expression of Napa.

WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS

Woodworkers are never without the right tools to dial in the details for a piece of furniture or other creation. As a winemaker, I am blessed with a toolbox too, albeit somewhat different. My toolbox contains an array of some of Napa Valley's most incredible vineyards and the most pristine and quality-driven cooperage available. Cardinale requires each tool's aspects to create an expression of grace, subtly, and power each year, to glorify its high and low notes-to create a wine that will be a keepsake for years to come and a defining memory once consumed.

PALATE

Super structured and with minerality to spare, this Cabernet Sauvignon offers a real presence on the palate from start to finish. Generous notes of dark chocolate balance beautifully with a blue and black fruit flavor explosion, finishing with a subtle whisper of rose petal.

GRAPES/BLEND: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot.

MATURATION: 22 months in 100% French oak, 82% new.
