As it comes into contact with water, it becomes mucilaginous or gel-like in texture which accounts for the majority of its properties. As a "demulcent" it is soothing to all mucous membranes. Native Americans traditionally used Slippery Elm as part of their traditional healing methods for centuries both orally and topically.

Instructions DIRECTIONS:30 minutes before a meal, add half a tablespoon into a glass of water, milk or juice (250ml), stir thoroughly and drink immediately, up to 3 times a day. Always use a dry spoon and replace lid after use.
