Brassica rapa

Chinese Mini Napa is a popular variety of cabbage amongst commercial growers, and this particular type is renowned for its small size. Mini napa plants are incredibly hardy, forming dense vase-shaped heads 20-22cm in size and 1.5-2kg. Not only does it reach maturity quickly but also boasts an incredibly uniform shape that is both compact and dark green on the outside with yellow inner leaves. Additionally, it has low bolting rates which make it excellent for sowing in either spring or autumn - ideal for any gardener!

This premium-grade mini Napa or "Chinese" cabbage has an invigorating sweet and tart taste with a delightfully crisp texture. From snacking on the crunchy stalks paired with dips to preparing coleslaw, this vegetable is very versatile! Saute it quickly alongside garlic and ginger for everyday meals, garnishing it off with some roasted peanuts or cashews plus hot sauce; alternatively, make your own kimchi using these Chinese cabbages - the possibilities are endless!

Sow in early spring, late summer, and autumn at 5mm deep. Space apart 30cm. Emerge in 7-10 days at 10-24oC. Harvest in 70 days.
