DIRECTIONS
1. Empty the contents of the bottle into the water tank and add 1 litre of cold water.
2. Turn on the machine and draw out 3-4 cups of solution from the brew spout and then 1/4 cup from the hot water/steam spout.
3. Wait five minutes and repeat until all the solution is out of the coffee machine.
4. Rinse the water tank with fresh water.
5. Refill the water tank with fresh water and follow the steps two and three to thoroughly rinse the coffee machine. For machines with automatic cleaning cycles, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Descaling the machine, Why?
This scale reduces the efficiency of the machine by blocking the pipes, tubes and filters. It is important to recognise that coffee machine cleaners will not remove hard water scale. The solution is to descale (or de-calcify) your machine regularly. Descaling your espresso machine will remove hard water scale from both the coffee brewing unit and milk frothing system keeping it working properly. The level of hard water scale in your machine depends on the hardness of the water you use and frequency you use your machine. As a rule of thumb do it every 4 to 6 months.
