Grand Vintage 1997 from Glenmorangie is the seventh release in the Bond House No 1 Collection.
Bond House No 1 is an annual release made from some of Glenmorangies most important vintages. It is designed to celebrate the largest of the distillerys 19th century warehouses, Warehouse No 1.
It has been matured for 10 years in ex-bourbon casks before spending the next 13 years in ex-red wine barrels from Chateau Montrose. Distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2021.

Nose: Astonishing, perfumed and fruity complexity. Floral notes of rose, jasmine and carnation intermingle with soft red fruits, mint toffee, pastry or cake mix and a sweet confectionery top note. With water, even more soft, floral top notes like roses and carnations emerge, with a very subtle spiciness like sweet chilli, clove and ginger.

Taste: A slightly tingly, gently spicy mouthfeel is followed by a symphony of sweet candy flavours, more soft red fruits, pineapple chunks and a taste reminiscent of pears and mandarin segments in fruit jelly. There are sweet ginger and chilli notes, gentle almond marzipan and vanilla toffee apple.

Finish: Sweet, rich, long and gently spicy.
