Glenturret 30 Year Old 2022 Release Single Malt Whisky

Originally owned by Sir Patrick Murray of Ochtertyre, The Glenturret Distillery is mentioned in the purchase records of the Barony of Ochtertyre as far back as 1763. Today, the distillery still nestles in its original location on the edge of the historic town of Crieff. Known locally as The Hosh (Gaelic for the foot) it is a picturesque and secluded setting at the foot of green rolling hills in the lower glen overlooking the river Turret.
Glenturrets dedication to traditional handcrafted Whisky Making, slow batch production, and an unusually slow distillation in hand-beaten copper stills combine to influence and underpin the unique character of their new make spirit. It is a spirit that they can nurture and enrich over time; that will work with the wood, not against it; a spirit shaped by hand and heart.

The Glenturret 30 Years Old is derived from a selection of the rarest casks found in Glenturrets traditional Dunnage Warehouses. A Niepoort Portuguese oak cask drives the tropical flavours found in this single malt. This incredible cask is over one hundred years old and the dark port which it once held has developed a mesmerising warm ruby hue visible in this extraordinary whisky. European oak sherry and Moscatel casks further enhance the whiskys abundant rich characteristics whilst refill casks allow an array of fruit to make several welcome appearances.

Nose: Tropical fruit salad.

Taste: Pineapple, mango and banana melting in brown sugar sweetness. Sumptuous creamy coffee.

Finish: Viscous with dark chocolate truffles.
