Grosset Springvale Riesling 2023 12.9% 750ml

Brilliant water like core with a greenish tinge to the outskirts. Blossoming out of the glass are lime and citrus aromas followed by some orange rind, chalky talc and steely mineral notes. Intense lime, citrus and orange rind flavours burst across the palate underscored by crunchy acidity. Distinct chalky talc like characters, wet steel and flinty minerals ensue. Finishes dry and scrumptious with a long powerful aftertaste.

Certified organic and biodynamic. A high-tension, fragrant Springvale release. Bright, floral perfume of lime blossom, ozone, blackcurrant and green apple. A strong spectrum of citrus flavours are the currency here: lemon, lime and a squirt of pulpy grapefruit zing with a faintly yeasty, almond-like character to finish. Quiet complexity and vitality are writ large here. Excellent. Drink by 2040. 95 points
