Johnnie Walker Black Label The Director's Cut - Blade Runner 2049 700ml

Johnnie Walker Black Label The Director's Cut / Blade Runner 2049

Johnnie Walker is arguably the most popular and recognisable blended Scotch on the market. Its core range includes the standard Red Label and Black Label, introduced in 1909 and named, quite simply, after their packaging. The iconic striding man motif was first drawn by Tom Browne the year prior. The premium Blue Label brand was introduced in 1992 and is composed using malt whisky from some of the most sought-after distilleries in Diageo's extensive portfolio.

Johnnie Walker has collaborated with filmmaker Denis Villeneuve on a limited-edition release: Johnnie Walker Black Label The Directors Cut. The new whisky pays homage to Ridley Scotts visionary 1982 movie Blade Runner, which was set in 2019 and gave audiences a visual taste of a 21st century Johnnie Walker Black in a geometric bottle. Now Villeneuve and Master Blender Jim Beveridge have gone back to the future to produce a Black Label from 2049.

A classic Johnnie Walker Black Label style but with a contemporary twist. A rich, smooth blend that has aromatic and vanilla flavours, with clouds of smokiness.

Nose: Far away Coal Ila peat, followed by marshmallow nougat, honey, and crisp red apple. Golden raisins and figs arent far behind, along with a very subtle green tea note.

Taste: Leather comes to the fore, along with Himalayan salt, allspice, black pepper, black tea, cotton candy, powdered coco, taro root, caramel, date, golden raisin, and a slightly bitter note of chicory.

Finish: Medium in length, black pepper, oak tannin, Caol Ila peat, and chicory lingering pleasantly.
