Lark Wolf Release IV Limited edition 500ml

Four years ago, we embarked upon a special partnership with some friends across the Bass Strait. They told us they had a passion for producing hand crafted, modern ales that are distinct in quality, flavour and character - what they liked to call "Ales of Distinction". We liked the sound of "Whiskies of Distinction", and hatched a plan to work together. This is a rich story of interdependence and collaboration; we send across our selected ex-whisky casks, they age their famous Imperial Johnny Smoke Porter in them for a while, then return to sender in Tasmania, where we finish our Whisky in these uniquely seasoned casks.

Wolf of the Willows IV is the annual benchmark expression of our barrel exchange program, with a solid core of malt, earth, and smoke. For this year's release our Head Distiller, Chris Thomson, selected liquid from our Bothwell Distillery, hand picked for its ability to highlight, lift, and freshen any finish, even one as dark and brooding as Johnny.

TASTING NOTES

NOSE: Bright citrus, toasted coconut, caramelised malt, grapefruit, cocoa powder and oak.

PALATE: Orange syrup, grapefruit, ancient oak, smoked malt, dark chocolate and toffee.

FINISH: Smoky, creamy and bright citrus.
