Lindores The Friar John Cor Cask Strength Congregation Chapter 1

Part of Lindores Abbey's Friar John Cor Congregation series, a collection of whiskies celebrating the official recognition of Lindores Abbey as the site of the first recorded distillation of Scotch whisky in 1494, this is the first release Chapter 1. It was matured in a combination of bourbon, Monbazillac, shaved toasted and recharred, and sherry casks and bottled at cask strength.
The black bottle is inspired by the tunics that would have been worn by the monks that roamed the grounds of Lindores Abbey back in 1494, including Friar John Cor, the monk commissioned to produce aqua vitae from malt in the first written reference to Scotch whisky.
