Accessory pocket that splices into 2 inch straps using side release buckles

An adjustable and removable strap allows user to decide which side should face forward and whether the opening points to the left or right. The JANUSâ„¢ splices into 2â„¢ shoulder straps or waist straps using compatible quick release buckle components, providing additional storage for most customers or elongating a fully extended shoulder/waist strap for larger folks. ;

The extension strap can also be completely removed and used independently of the pouch. The pouch too can be used independently by modular attachment to PALS webbing using a pair of 5" TacTieâ„¢ (also with either side facing outwards, opening left or right).

**Please note that Janus Extension Pocket buckles are compatible with the 2" Duraflex WARRIOR buckles. Please check your pack to make sure you have this type of buckle.

PRODUCT FEEDBACK
"LOVE IT"
Brian on 2/18/2016 1:04:21 PM

Comments: This has so many uses and can be used a few ways. Take out the extension strap and you can use it as a belt pouch, with the extension strap taken out it can be MOLLE attached to any MOLLE bag (which I do on the shoulder strap of the Kodiak gearslinger (perfect place to have your iPod with headphone, cell phone and a bunch of other small things you may need while traveling through an airport). I also use it on my day bag Colossus for things that I need to get at quickly.
"Great for every day carry odds and ends"
A Carter on 4/23/2015 9:44:57 AM

Comments: Got this to go with my Fatboy that I received at Christmas along with an Anemone. This works excellent, perfect spot to store e-cig in the compression strap on the bottom end(bit that keeps the pocket compressed when not filled to the brim.) So much room in the pocket, I carry my LG G Flex in a case in it most of the time, but have easily carried that, plus my fiancée's LG Optimus G Pro, and her sisters Note 4, all in cases. Probably could have fit another phablet in there with those 3. Another great product from Maxpedition!
"The ULTIMATE EDC!"
Thomas Carroll on 5/8/2014 6:54:57 AM

Comments: I have gone through many pockets, pouches, and other small storage options (see reviews) on Maxpedition trying to find the perfect EDC. What I realized is that to get the EDC I wanted, I had to build it. When I stumbled upon the Janus, the dimensions were a little taller than what I wanted, but I purchased it in hopes of finding the ultimate EDC. The Janus was intended originally to be an add-on pocket, but it's definitely more than that. It also shrinks down to 6.5 inches tall when the sides are pressed in flat which is what I needed to fit in the average cargo pocket (where I keep all EDCs). If the outer paracord is off-putting, a hint : it can easily be removed (I did just that). There are two inner pocket with elastic strap and hook and loop closure with extra loops at the end of each that could hold a pen or something similar. The biggest selling point for me was the front and back outer panels. The extension strap can be removed (again, done as well) to allow this to be used as an EDC. From there, I used an Urban Wallet in the front panel for quick access to cards and ID, and the back panel hides the D-BAG for loose change without adding extra bulk. This is just a suggestion, but this has been the most flexible EDC I have owned by far and worth every penny. This configuration does not exceed 3 inches wide. 3 inches is the maximum I would want an EDC to bulge in my cargo pocket, and the Janus distributes the volume evenly. Unless Maxpedition makes a larger version of the Rat Wallet, this is exactly what I need!
"great additional pouch"
arizona on 9/23/2013 6:45:56 PM

Comments: i took off the extension strap and just ran the shoulder strap of my goliath versipack through it. it's perfect for my camera, ipod, 2 aa torch and batteries and still more room.
"Great organizer"
Nem on 5/22/2013 8:10:18 AM

Comments: Superb little pouch with great organizing possibilities. I attach it to my Proteus' belt or use it as a stand-alone first-aid pouch. I'm now waiting for a version with horizontal PALS so I can attach it to the back or side of my Condor 2!
"Excellent add-on to the JUMBO"
40MetersCW on 4/21/2013 12:49:39 PM

Comments: I bought this when I bought my JUMBO. It is a great add on that puts items you really need right within easy reach. I did get rid of the elastic cord that was woven around, as it was starting to fray when I bought it and heat fusing didn't work well. I'll replace it with some paracord. The ONLY thing I would recommend doing when you get this is to heat fuse the paracord zipper pulls a little more. My zipper pulls were fused, but I could see that they would fray over time if I didn't do what I did. All in all, I am glad I got it!
"Extension Pocket"
Tom on 3/25/2013 3:17:52 PM

Comments: I got this a while back for an addition to my S-Type Versipack, and recently I found a new great use for this pouch for my new pasttime...pipe smoking. I was looking for a pouch to carry my daily supply of pipes, tobacco, 3-in-1 tamper, boxes of matches and filters; then I realized that I had one. This will hold up to two average size pipes (5-6") and all the accessories I need for the day. Great pouch!!!
"Bought to use with mySitka"
Dan Campbell on 2/5/2013 10:19:34 PM

Comments: Awesome addition to my Sitka Gearslinger. It holds both of my phones in addition to various everyday carry items that I wish to have more access to without having to Sling my bag around to the front of my body. I love this addition as it easily snaps into position on my Sitka as an extension of the strap. Thanx Maxpedition for the wonderful addition to my already great Pack.
"Awesome"
John N on 11/8/2012 2:58:23 PM

Comments: Bought this as a quick access pocket for my Monsoon Gearslinger. Liked it so much I bought a second one to stash in the main compartment for misc gear. The organizer straps are great for stuff you don't want floating around, and the pocket is deceptively large (like most maxpedition gear it holds more than it looks like it can) Great buy
"Excellent for small sundries"
Paul Lenig on 9/22/2012 3:03:25 PM

Comments: This nifty little pocket is the perfect size to hold many little daily sundries. I use it to hold a few small first aid items, a small knife, a pen, candy, that sort of thing. While it doesn't work very well as an extension to the carry strap of the Kodiak Gearslinger (it makes the strap way to long even pulled all the way tight), it does attach nicely to the PALS on the strap, so it is mounted in pretty much the same place. I imagine the extension would work much better on a versipack or any other item where strap length is a little less critical. The little pouch is sturdy and well made, as I expected. It holds a surprising amount of items, and the compression strap on it allows it to keep a low profile. I was impressed by how solid the stitching was, as well. A great product, when I do purchase a versipack in the near future, I will be getting another Janus to go with it.
