Installation Instructions
Disassembly:
- Remove the negative battery cable from the battery.
- Locate the tilt trim motor on the outboard motor. Typically located on the port side of the engine and is attached to the hydraulic tilt and trim assembly.
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the tilt trim motor.
- Remove the two bolts that hold the tilt trim motor to the hydraulic tilt and trim assembly.
- Carefully remove the tilt trim motor from the hydraulic tilt and trim assembly.
- Inspect the tilt trim motor for any damage or wear, such as a cracked housing or a broken shaft. If the motor is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
Installation:
- Place the new tilt trim motor onto the hydraulic tilt and trim assembly.
- Align the bolt holes on the tilt trim motor with the holes on the hydraulic tilt and trim assembly.
- Insert the two bolts that hold the tilt trim motor to the hydraulic tilt and trim assembly.
- Tighten the bolts securely.
- Reconnect the wiring harness to the tilt trim motor.
- Install the negative battery cable to the battery.
- Test the tilt trim motor to make sure it is working properly.
