Installation Instructions

Disassembly:

  1. Remove the negative battery cable from the battery.
  2. Locate the tilt trim motor on the outboard motor. Typically located on the port side of the engine and is attached to the hydraulic tilt and trim assembly.
  3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the tilt trim motor.
  4. Remove the two bolts that hold the tilt trim motor to the hydraulic tilt and trim assembly.
  5. Carefully remove the tilt trim motor from the hydraulic tilt and trim assembly.
  6. Inspect the tilt trim motor for any damage or wear, such as a cracked housing or a broken shaft. If the motor is damaged, it will need to be replaced.

Installation:

  1. Place the new tilt trim motor onto the hydraulic tilt and trim assembly.
  2. Align the bolt holes on the tilt trim motor with the holes on the hydraulic tilt and trim assembly.
  3. Insert the two bolts that hold the tilt trim motor to the hydraulic tilt and trim assembly.
  4. Tighten the bolts securely.
  5. Reconnect the wiring harness to the tilt trim motor.
  6. Install the negative battery cable to the battery.
  7. Test the tilt trim motor to make sure it is working properly.
