While the game is relatively new to New York the USA has an interesting history in Rugby League.

In 1953 a group of American football players led by�Mike Dimitro�left the USA to tour Australia to play Rugby League. None of the athletes had ever�previously played the game. Yet, they were not only able to compete against some of the best players in the world, but also shocked the local teams�with some stunning victories.
