Radish - Chinese Mantanghong Improved F1 - 70 SeedsThe 'Mantanghong' radish is the most celebrated variety of Chinese "beauty heart" radishes for good reason. Growing up to an impressive 300g in size with a 7-8cm greenish white exterior and vivid fuchsia interior. For best results, sow winter varieties during late summer or autumn as short days facilitate root growth.

These beauties can be enjoyed raw, cooked or pickled - making them sure to be the star of any dish! It has a crisp texture and is mild and sweet flavoured. Try eating fresh. Just thinly slice, top with fresh squeezed lime and a little salt and pepper or with sugar.

For cool season sowing only. The flavor and texture is best when grown briskly so plant in fertile soil and keep well watered. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in late summer to early autumn, in a sunny location. Keep soil moist. Fertilise as needed. Sow direct in late summer, autumn & winter at 10mm deep, 10cm apart. Germination in 4-15 days at 10-28oC. Hardy annual. 60 days to maturity.

Wear gloves and thoroughly wash your skin with water & soap after touching the seeds. Treated seeds do not affect your crops or harm insects such as bees. These treated seeds are strictly for propagation or growing in the garden only. THE RESULTANT CROP IS EDIBLE.

Fungicide seed treatment may be an AQIS (Biosecurity, Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, Government of Australia) requirement for certain seed varieties. Treated seeds may be dyed a distinct colour. Read the label on the seed packet before usage.
