Royal Salute 29 Year Old Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask Blended Scotch Whisky 700ml

Now Discontinued

In 1988, Queen Elizabeth II made her first official visit to Spain, forging bonds of cordial friendship.

To celebrate the event, Royal Salute released an exquisite 29-year-old blend, finished for the first time ever in the finest Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Spain.

In this remarkable whisky, Sandy Hyslop has masterfully captured the richness of this prestigious sherry within Royal Salute’s unmistakable signature.

Aromatic and spicy on the nose, this superb blend entertains with notes of sandalwood, orange, liquorice and plump sultanas.

The flavours perfectly complement the nose, with ripe plums in honey syrup, treacle toffee and chocolate-coated almonds. The finish is long, sweet and seductively spicy.

"This second release in the Flask Collection epitomizes deft management of PX finishing to produce an opulent treat. Honey and sherry notes, chunks of fruit-and-nut chocolate, melting caramel, plummy fruit, chocolate-covered raisins, refined dry spices, and stimulating peppercorn notes as the whisky warms. Thick and luxurious texture with vanilla, caramel, Seville orange, plum pudding, crème caramel, crystallized citrus, and melted chocolate, with a lightly spicy, sweet caramel finish." - Jonny McCormick, Whisky Advocate
