The Arran Machrie Moor Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml

Arran has been producing a batch of peated malt whisky at the same time every year since 2004. It was first released in small batches under the brand name Machrie Moor, which refers to a peat moor on Arran's west coast. To guarantee that the Arran character is not lost in a sea of peat-smoke, the barley is malted to a level of 20 ppm (phenol parts per million). The end product is a wonderful balanced dram with sweet fruit on the front palate and lingering peat on the finish, bottled at 46 percent abv without chill filtration. Like the embers of a blaze, it's delicious and warming. The scent is a combination of fudge, coconut, and cinnamon, with a hint of peat. Citrus and orchard flavours on the palate, with warming spice. With a trace of salinity, the finish is Embers.
