The world of Stephen King's The Dark Tower will be expending from the printed page to the big screen in August. This is intended as the first film in a franchise which will cover both film and television. The movie stars Idris Elba as The Gunslinger on a quest to protect the Dark Tower - a mythical structure which supports all realities - and Matthew Mc-Conaughey as his nemesis, The Man In Black. The book series already runs to 8 volumes and has also spawned gaming and comic tie-ins.
