Kate Messner is the award-winning author of Over and Under the Snow and more than a dozen other books for young readers. Kate lives on Lake Champlain with her family. When shes not writing, she loves spending time outsidecross country skiing, hiking, swimming, and digging in her gardens.

Christopher Silas Neal is an award-winning illustrator whose work has been published in a variety of books, magazines, and featured on television. He is a regular contributor to the New York Times and shows his art at various galleries nationwide. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn and teaches at Pratt Institute.
