The inspiration behind the Vintage Old Boys Rugby Polo Shirt 1871.

The development of Rugby Football in the early years was due to Old Boys forming football clubs once theyd left school and gone in to industry.

This is evident with the formation of the game in 1871 with the majority of the founder clubs being made up fromOld RugbeiansorOld Marlburians. The clubs came together in 1871 and the first job of the new organisation was to form a committee. This consisted of three former students ofRugby School, all from the legal profession. These werefounding president was Algernon Rutter, along with two fellow Old Rugbeians, Edward Carleton Holmes and Leonard James Maton, who set to work on drafting therules, 59 in all, a process that took five months. They were completed in June 1871.
